Harvest 2026 : Tour of our estates

As we did last year, we are gathering all the harvest reports into one letter. This way you can go and read the ones you are mostly interested in by clicking on the link to download the full article.

Of course this is also possible to read them all :-)

2026 was definitely not a usual vintage, we can note some global aspects such as a very humid winter and spring and a very hot and very dry growing season. It seems the Southern East region with Rhône & Provence and the Italian Valpolicella & Tuscany seemed to be safe from drought !

2026 gave here and there very small harvests but very promising wines to come …

Bronzato - Valpolicella

At Bronzato, the 2026 harvest is considered the best of the past three years, in both quality and quantity. After a rainy start to autumn, conditions became drier as spring approached. Budbreak began in the first week of April. There was no frost damage: the vines here generally start growing later than those on the plain, which helps reduce the risk. June hail caused minor damage to a few plots without protective netting, but the bunches were largely unaffected.

Château Fourcas Hosten - Listrac-Médoc - Bordeaux

Château Fourcas Hosten will complete its harvest on Tuesday, September 22. Many estates in the Médoc have already finished harvesting, but the Château’s vineyard is located on a later-ripening terroir. This year, ripeness levels are exceptionally advanced, and the wines are shaping up to be concentrated yet magnificent. The only downside is the very small crop.

Domaine Bader - Alsace

The work, Pierre Scharsch has been doing regarding regenerative agriculture since he took over is paying off, as during this year—which was particularly extreme in terms of heat and drought—his vineyard showed no signs of major stress: no leaf drop or scorching, and growth remained active throughout the growing season.

Figuière - Côtes de Provence

The 2026 vintage will be remembered for its contrasts: a year that was both wet and warm, relatively straightforward in terms of vineyard health, yet particularly demanding when harvest arrived. Following an early start to the growing season and an extended period of summer heat, patience ultimately proved to be one of the keys to the vintage.

Labadens - Rhône

The Rhône has not experienced a drought this year; the water supply, which turned out to be quite plentiful, has protected the vines from water stress. 2026 was a warm, sun-filled vintage, producing concentrated wines whose aromatic profiles have nevertheless retained beautiful freshness, particularly in the red wines, with distinctive notes of liquorice. The wines are already showing tremendous promise.

Les 7 Pierres - Ardèche - Rhône

The harvest at Les 7 Pierres took place as usual, wrapping up on September 12—and we were there :-)
2026 will be a sunny vintage, though alcohol levels remained reasonable at around 13°C. This is a significant vintage, as it will be the first certified organic vintage—a farming practice that François Tissot has always followed and which is now officially certified.
