RVF – July 2014
From the last French Revue des Vins de France, an article introducing well wines from Giulio Armani, Azienda Agricola Denavolo. This estate only planted of white grapes, produce wines using the entire grapes destemmed. A very old method for producing wines … maybe even one of the original method.
Wines have a nice orange color, at Denavolo they are also tannic due to the Malvasia di Candia Aromatica, a rustic grape also very aromatic, but which has a thick skin and therefore a skin rich in flavors and structure worthwhile to be used.
Today a large range of white wines made that way exists, each grape and each terroir will bring its richness and specificity, building a real new “category” of wine : Orange wines as well as it exists red, white, rosé or yellow wines.
