Why did I choose the winery Klein ?
There is no such thing as chance in this world – I met Françoise Klein one weekend in Alsace n 2005, we stopped at the estate to taste wines and … buy some bottles. It was amazing to hear her talking about her different wines, from old to young vintages.
Now our paths have crossed again, Jean Marie, expert winemaker, tends the 8 hectares estate, which includes nearly 30 different plots ! Each variety of grape is respected, and they ensure that the soil is the most suitable. Françoise, also a winemaker, knows how to listen to the wines and which bottle or vintage she can open at the right time. The wine tastings are always a true revelation of flavours. They also have an incredible cellar full of old vintages, such as Riesling and Gewurztraminer 1981, for example, which have retained all their freshness !
